5-Year-Old Boy Struck By Car In Natick

NATICK (CBS) -- A 5-year-old boy was taken to the hospital after being hit by a car Wednesday morning.

The Natick Police and Fire Departments responded after the boy was struck on Pond Street near Maple Street shortly before noon Wednesday.

Natick Police said that, when one vehicle stopped to allow pedestrians to cross at a crosswalk, another car behind it swerved to avoid hitting that first car.

The second car, driven by a 38-year-old Natick woman, jumped the curb and hit the boy.

Police said the woman hit the boy at a low speed.

The boy was taken to Boston Children's Hospital with what police described as non-life-threatening injuries.

No charges were filed against the driver, and the crash is still under investigation.
