Maine Police Officers Run Half Marathon In Uniform

PORTLAND, Maine (CBS) -- It's challenging enough to run 13.1 miles in running shoes and shorts. Imagine doing it in boots, a bullet-proof vest and a full duty belt.

That's exactly what a pair of Portland police officers did at the Old Port Half Marathon Saturday morning.

Despite the rain, officers Brent Abbott and Tom Kwok donned their full uniform. The pair were among a team of officers and a dispatcher who finished the race. The team raised over $1,000 for local police charities.
