Felger: The Bruins' Perfect Partner For A Tuukka Rask Trade [VIDEO]

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Boston Bruins signed goaltender Anton Khudobin over the weekend, presumably to replace Jonas Gustavsson as the backup to Tuukka Rask. Not if you ask Felger & Mazz.

In their continuing quest to find a way for the Bruins to move Rask and his $7 million cap hit off the books, Michael Felger proposed an idea for the team to trade Rask to a team that he believes may be in need of a goalie and also have defensemen that they could send back.

Felger's idea for a trade partner? The Anaheim Ducks.

"Anaheim traded Frederik Andersen ... They haven't really replaced him," said Felger. "They have John Gibson there at $2.3 million a year, he was benched in the middle of the playoffs. ... They don't have anyone else on their roster. [The Bruins] want Cam Fowler. ... They also have a hell of a team that hasn't gone anywhere the last couple of years and could they feel that goaltending is part of the problem? They might, since they benched their goalie in the middle of the first round last year."

As interesting as Felger's idea may sound to Bruins fans, the Ducks are likely moving forward with Gibson as their starting goaltender. The 22-year-old Gibson started 38 games for the Ducks last season, winning 21 with a 2.07 goals-against average and winning the William Jennings trophy along with Andersen for allowing the fewest goals in the NHL. Gibson also finished seventh in voting for the Vezina Trophy as the league's best goaltender. The Bruins probably need to find another way to get a defenseman.
