Felger & Mazz: Kevin Durant Joining Golden State 'Borderline Pathetic'

BOSTON (CBS) -- Many pundits didn't like Kevin Durant's decision to join the Golden State Warriors as a free agent. The Felger & Massarotti program was no exception to that.

Struggling to find a comparison, Felger & Mazz opened Tuesday's show discussing Durant's move to the Bay Area. Michael Felger likened it to Magic Johnson leaving the Lakers for the Celtics in 1984 or Larry Bird leaving the Celtics to join the Lakers in 1985. To them, it's a bad look.

"A guy that good, in a sport where the singular talent is that important, to lose to a team in seven games in the conference finals and then join that team ... Find me a comp," said Felger. "That is borderline pathetic. It really is."

"I think it sucks," said Massarotti. "I'm getting tired ... of this whole super-team thing and it just makes [the NBA] uninteresting to me. The only way to find a rooting angle in the NBA now, to me, is to root against Golden State."
