Celtics Reportedly Meeting With Al Horford On Friday

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Celtics' big free agent meeting is scheduled for Saturday, but they'll make their pitch to the second-biggest name on the market on Friday.

The C's are reportedly meeting with free agent big man Al Horford on Friday, according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski. Horford will also meet with the Houston Rockets on Friday.

The Atlanta Hawks will reportedly offer Horford a five-year deal to retain his services, but Wojnarowski reports that offer will not be for max money. Other teams are lining up to give the free agent a four-year deal at max money, so this could get real interesting real quick.

A nine-year NBA veteran, Horford has averaged 14.3 points and 7.9 rebounds over his career. He started all 82 games for the Hawks last season, averaging 15.2 points on 51 percent shooting from the floor and 7.3 rebounds per game.

Danny Ainge and the Celtics' brass have a pretty busy holiday weekend ahead.  The Celtics are scheduled to meet with free agent Kevin Durant, the prize of this summer's free agency crop, on Saturday in the Hamptons. ESPN's Chris Broussard is reporting that Boston will also meet with free agent center Dwight Howard over the weekend.
