Donald Trump's Private Boston Fundraiser Target Of Protesters

BOSTON (CBS) – When Donald Trump came to Boston Wednesday to raise some money for his presidential campaign, there were protesters waiting for him.

Trump headlined a lunch event at the Langham Hotel at noon while dozens of people stood outside hoping for a glimpse of him.

A group of about 100 protesters that included Congressman Michael Capuano and Ayanna Pressley held signs and chanted across the street from the hotel in Post Office Square more than an hour before Trump's arrival.

"Donald Trump wants to erase and white-out the gains by workers, by the LGBT community, by women, by immigrants, by people of color," Pressley said to the crowd. "How dare he say that he wants to make America great again when he wants to vilify the very people who built it?"

Capuano told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Ben Parker that he was most concerned about not knowing what Trump stands for.

"You tell me--where are his policies on anything?" Capuano said. "I think that's dangerous. I'd rather disagree with somebody than not know where they stand."

To attend Trump's fundraiser, you had to pay $2,700 just to get in the door.

According to the Boston Herald, $10,000 would get you a photo with Trump. If you wanted to attend a VIP reception, it was $25,000 per couple.

Last week, it was reported that Trump had just $1.3 million in his campaign account while Hillary Clinton had $42 million in the bank.

After the Boston fundraiser, Trump headed to Bangor, Maine for a campaign event with Maine Governor Paul LePage.
