Kevin Durant Will Reportedly Hold Free Agent Meeting With Celtics

BOSTON (CBS) – So you're saying there's a chance.

Kevin Durant choosing Boston as his free agent destination has always been reported to be a longshot.

That may still be the case, but according to a report by The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski, Boston is on a short list of teams who will have the opportunity to make their pitch to Durant during an in-person meeting this summer.

Wojnarowski reported that the Celtics, Warriors, Clippers, Heat, Spurs and Thunder will be receiving invitations to meet with Durant starting July 1.

According to The Vertical, all of the meetings are expected to take place in New York.

Durant's decision is expected to come quickly – possibly by July 9, according to Wojnarowski.

Despite the likely meeting, Boston may remain on the outside looking in when it comes to Durant. The Vertical reports that a return to the Thunder is most likely, though Durant is also intrigued about potentially joining the Warriors.

It's unclear how much the possibility of free crab legs will entice Durant to come to Boston.
