87-Year-Old Grandma Goes For Birthday Skydive

ORANGE (CBS) – Many would consider themselves lucky just to be alive in their late 80s. But Janis Lefebre decided to live on the edge to celebrate her 87th birthday.

The Greenfield Recorder reports that the Athol grandmother jumped out of a plane at 13,500 feet on Sunday. The experience at Jumptown in Orange was a gift from her kids after they found out that skydiving was always on Lefebre's bucket list.

"It's just fun watching everyone be nervous for me," she said before the big jump, according to the newspaper.

On the plane, Lefebre hardly looked nervous. The skydive went off without a hitch.

"That was really cool, oh my," she said on the ground. "Indescribable, it really is."

She told The Recorder that she wouldn't think twice about doing it again.

"I have the coolest grandma, ever," her 19-year-old grandson told the newspaper.
