Red Sox Fan Makes Most Of Miracle Second Chance On Foul Ball

BOSTON (CBS) -- Some people attend baseball games for their entire lives without ever once getting the chance to catch a foul ball. Yet one horseshoe-wearing fan at Fenway Park found himself the target of two foul balls on Sunday -- with the second providing a healthy dose of redemption.

A fan seated in the Home Plate Pavilion made a catch on a foul ball that delighted the ballpark in the bottom of the seventh inning Sunday.

But the NESN broadcast showed showed that the fan had gotten a nearly identical foul ball hit his way earlier in the game, but his one-handed attempt to catch it failed him. The ball bounced out of his outstretched hand and back down below, drawing the disappointment of the fans. The fan was clearly in agony over the lost opportunity.

Yet miraculously, he got his second chance. This time, he went with the two-handed approach, and it paid off for him.

The reaction of all the fans around him showed that the moment wasn't lost on anyone.

It was a story that would be difficult to believe, but fortunately this fan will forever have video proof.
