Child Struck By Vehicle In Sandwich

SANDWICH (CBS) -- A nine-year-old child was struck by a vehicle in Sandwich Sunday afternoon.

The accident happened on Old Fields Road. Police said the child was struck while riding their scooter.

The child was taken to Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence. The extent of the child's injuries was not yet known.

State and Sandwich Police are investigating. It is not yet clear whether or not charges will be filed against the driver.
