Yarmouth Police Identify Man Suspected Of Stealing From Military Family

YARMOUTH (CBS) – Police have identified a man suspected of stealing the personal belongings of a North Carolina family he befriended at a Yarmouth inflatable park.

Yarmouth Police announced on Saturday that they have obtained an arrest warrant for Kevin Lima of Acushnet.

Lima is believed to be in the greater New Bedford area.

Earlier this week, Lima allegedly stole a beach bag belonging to the Watson family, who was visiting Yarmouth's Cape Cod Inflatable Park.

Disabled Marine Robert Watson told police that he, his wife and two children spent part of their day at Cape Cod Inflatable Park with a man now identified as Lima.

Police believe Lima stole the family's beach bag after they put it down for just a few minutes to go down a slide.

The family's wallets, identification documents, credit cards and more were all stolen.

Members of the police department, employees of the inflatable park, and residents pitched in money and services to help the Watson family.

When found, Lima will be charged with larceny over $250 and larceny of a credit card, both felonies.

Anyone who knows where Lima is should contact their local police department.
