Human Remains Found In Providence ID'd As Boston Nightclub Owner

BOSTON (CBS) – Human remains found buried behind a Providence, Rhode Island mill have been identified as Steven DiSarro of Westwood, Mass.

DiSarro, a Boston nightclub operator with ties to the mob, was 43 when he was last seen in 1993. His remains were found March 31 buried in back of the property located at 715 Branch Ave. in Providence.

No one has ever been charged with DiSarro's murder but former New England mob boss Francis "Cadillac Frank" Salemme was indicted in 2004 for making false statements related to what he knew about DiSarro's death.

According to a 2004 DEA press release, Salemme and his son had a hidden interest in "The Channel", a South Boston nightclub run by DiSarro. Salemme was allegedly present at the scene of DiSarro's murder and helped bury his body.

The FBI continues to investigate DiSarro's death.

DiSarro's wife Pamela says, "We look forward to the conclusion of the FBI's investigation so we can learn as much as possible about what really happened to Steven and finally get some closure for our family."
