Taunton Rampage Witness: 'He Was Full Of Rage'

TAUNTON (CBS) - Surveillance video of 28-year-old Arthur DaRosa approaching a store employee, punching her and knocking her to the floor, reveals the rage that Celeste Pacheco saw in him that night. "He was full of rage. He didn't look like he was going to stop anytime soon or anyone was going to stop him," she said.

The video of the attack inside the Macy's at the Silver City Galleria in Taunton was released by the Bristol County District Attorney through a public records request.

Pacheco was at a nearby nail salon and knew something was wrong when she saw customers running in all directions and panicked. "There were some people in groups talking and making sure they were together, others running and looking behind them," she said.

The video also shows DaRosa shoving a second before another camera catches him fleeing Macy's, and heavily armed police swarm in. There was no footage of DaRosa entering Bertucci's where Pacheco witnessed the stabbing of waitress Sheena Savoy through the salon window.

"By the time we heard the commotion and looked up he had his hands on the back of the waitress and the other hand in a stabbing motion attacking her," Pacheco said.

Another customer, George Heath, was fatally stabbed when he tried to help Savoy. It was only moments before that DaRosa had crashed his car into the Macy's storefront, leading to the chaos and violence.

The salon owner locked Pacheco and other customers in a back room for safety. "By the time we looked out a cop had a gun over the assailant and seemed to have it under control," Pacheco recalled.

DaRosa had been shot and killed by off duty Deputy Sheriff James Creed. "I said that day thank goodness the off-duty cop was there because he was in a rage," she said.

The video does not offer any perspective on Myricks Street where police say DaRosa entered the home of Patricia Slavin who was also stabbed and killed, her daughter Kathleen seriously injured.

The district attorney had no comment on the video citing the ongoing investigation.
