Jackie Bradley Jr. Back With Red Sox After Paternity Leave

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Red Sox will have May's American League Player of the Month back in the lineup Friday night at Fenway Park as they open an important series against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Jackie Bradley Jr. was reinstated from the paternity leave list on Friday, one day after his wife gave birth to their baby daughter, Emerson. He will bat seventh in the Boston lineup and roam center field Friday night against the Jays.

Bradley Jr. is on an absolute tear at the plate this season with a .331 average, .601 slugging percentage and 1.010 OPS. His nine home runs and 37 RBIs are good for third on the team. His 29-game hitting streak from April 24-May 25 is the longest for any major leaguer this season, and on Wednesday, he became the first Red Sox player to earn AL Player of the Month honors since 2011.

To make room on the 25-man roster, outfielder Rusney Castillo was optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket.
