Clif Bars Recalled Over Possible Listeria Contamination

EMERYVILLE, Calif. (CBS) – Clif Bar is recalling some of its popular energy bars because their sunflower kernels may be contaminated with Listeria.

CLIF BAR Nuts & Seeds energy bars, CLIF BAR Sierra Trail Mix energy bars and CLIF Mojo Mountain Mix trail mix bars are being recalled nationwide.

There have not been any reports of illness yet in connection with the recalled bars. Anyone who bought the recalled bars should not eat them.

Listeria can cause headache, nausea and diarrhea, and is a greater threat to pregnant women, young children and the elderly.

An ongoing frozen food recall over listeria concerns now effects hundreds of products.
