Ashland Police Warn Of Coyote Attacks On Small Dogs
ASHLAND (CBS) -- Police warned Ashland residents of a coyote attacking small dogs in their area this week.
In a post shared on the Ashland Police Department Facebook page Thursday, the department said the attacks took place during daytime hours Wednesday on Voyagers Lane and Hawthorne Road. They said that, in both cases, the dogs were not on leashes, and tried to chase the coyote.
Ashland Police said there is no reason to panic, and urged owners to watch their pets closely when they are outdoors and keep them on leashes when possible. They advised residents call 911 if they spot coyotes roaming their neighborhood.
