Julian Edelman Yells 'Free Brady' On Stage At Boston Calling

BOSTON (CBS) -- Patriots receiver Julian Edelman certainly knows how to get a crowd going in New England.

Edelman spent his holiday weekend showing support for his quarterback, taking the stage at the Boston Calling concert at City Hall Plaza and delivering a simple message: "Free Brady!"

Those two words had the crowd cheering, agreeing with Edelman's plea for Tom Brady's freedom.

Brady is facing a four-game suspension stemming from the never-ending DeflateGate saga. The Pats' QB is in the process of appealing the four-game ban, but Edelman and the Patriots' receiving corps faces the likelihood of catching passes from backup Jimmy Garoppolo for the first month of the 2016 regular season.

And you may notice that Edelman was sporting a boot on his left foot when he took the stage on Saturday:

Edelman is recovering from offseason surgery on his left foot, the same foot that caused him to miss the final seven weeks of the regular season. But while Brady might not be around for the first month, Edelman is expected to be good-to-go when Training Camp begins in late July.
