Virgin Mary Statue Vandalized In South Boston
BOSTON (CBS) – The head and hands of a Virgin Mary statue in South Boston were vandalized recently.
Police are searching for the person who vandalized the statue, which has been a part of the neighborhood for over 30 years.
The statue is located on Old Colony Ave.
Though the statue is placed behind the St. Monica-St. Augustine Catholic Church, it is privately owned by a family.
The family glued the statue's head and hands back into place.
Police in the Greater Boston area have responded to several reports of vandalized religious statues in recent months.
