BOSTON (CBS) -- A Boston Harbor Cruises boat carrying 152 people, including a wedding party, ran aground on Georges Island on Saturday.

The Majesty became stranded after hitting a sandbar around 7 p.m.

U.S. Coast Guard officials say the boat was not sinking and no one was hurt. The Coast Guard, Boston firefighters and State Police were called to the scene.

Massachusetts Environmental Police also responded, helping to evacuate passengers from the stranded boat, according to their Twitter account.

All 137 passengers were safely evacuated and transferred to Asteria, an MBTA ferry, officials say. They were taken to Long Wharf on a New England Aquarium Whale Watch boat.

Jaime Stern and Fernanda Cerqueira, who were celebrating their upcoming wedding in Brazil, told WBZ-TV's Katie Brace the entire ordeal was quite the memorable experience.

"There was a big crash and the next thing you know the Coast Guard (is there) and everyone is moving, kids are crying, people were screaming," the groom said. "It was crazy."

"We got stuck and we noticed something was wrong," said the bride while gesturing that they had to put on life preservers. "(It's something) we'll never forget."
