Millions Of Sippy Cups Recalled After Mold Sickens Children

NORWOOD (CBS) – More than 3 million sippy cups are being recalled because they could contain mold that is making kids sick.

Norwood-based Mayborn USA issued the recall for five types of spill-proof Tommee Tippee Sippee cups because the removable, one-piece, white valve inside can grow mold if it stays wet or is infrequently cleaned.

There have been over 3,000 reports of mold in the product, and 68 children have come down with diarrhea, vomiting and other symptoms after drinking from the cup.

"Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Sippee cups and contact Mayborn to receive a free replacement cup," officials say.
