Keller @ Large: Enjoy The Summer-Like Weather Carefully

BOSTON (CBS) - Today we're forecast to see something we haven't seen in many months – summer-like temperatures in the 80s, maybe even touching 90, with plenty of sun.

This is my kind of weather. But over the years I've come to realize something about my fellow Bostonians – we don't necessarily handle seasonal transitions well.

So in the interest of promoting public health and harmony, here's some constructive advice on how to handle the arrival of summer heat.

First, be careful.

For some of us a day like this one is an invitation to grab for an early-season tan. But Rome wasn't built in a day, and that goes for summery skin tone too, unless you are Mr. Trump.

On Thursday, you will see people walking around looking like freshly-boiled lobsters, and I can assure you that is not a healthy choice.

On a day like this it's tempting to shed as much clothing as possible, for relief from the heat and as a celebration of summer freedom. Again, you are urged to use discretion.

Most people look better with more clothes on, not less. Be honest about whether or not you are one of them.

And you need to be careful to stay hydrated in weather like this. However, booze is dehydrating.

So make the adjustment and drink in this beautiful day. As always – we earned it.
