Quincy Man Convicted Of Murdering Ipswich Chinese Restaurant Owner

IPSWICH (CBS) -- A Quincy man has been found guilty of murder in the 2011 stabbing death of an Ipswich Chinese restaurant owner.

Sifa Lee, 38, of Quincy was sentenced to life in prison on Thursday for killing 62-year-old Tony Woo at his Majestic Dragon Chinese restaurant on Route 1.

Lee and two other men were arrested in October 2011 in connection with the murder.

"Tony Woo made all the right decisions in life and yet, he fell victim to this random act of such horror and depravity," Essex Assistant District Attorney Kristen Buxton said in court Thursday.  "There is no way to measure the mental anguish this has caused his family, his friends and his community."

"Although there will never be closure, we humbly recognize all the many victims' families that do not have this moment to embrace," the Woo family said in a public statement after sentencing. "We think about Tony every day, miss him beyond words and will continue to live our lives in honor of our Dad with kindness and love."

The murder was the first in Ipswich since 1975.
