Taunton Attacker's Discharge Paperwork From Morton Hospital Shows 2 Names
BOSTON (CBS) - There is a new development in the case of the Taunton man who carried out a string of violent attacks, stabbing several people and killing two earlier this week.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030 has reviewed the original discharge form from Morton Hospital, where Arthur DaRosa had sought help for having suicidal thoughts just hours before the rampage.
The discharge paperwork shows two different names on the same form.
The form shows DaRosa's name listed as the patient at the top of the page, but further down where the patient discharge instructions are given, DaRosa's name does not appear, but rather the name of someone believed to be a juvenile with no relation to DaRosa.
WBZ is not releasing the juvenile's name, but the instructions state it's not clear why this patient behaved the way he did.
It says the patient should be further evaluated by the Children's Advocacy Center.
The discharge instructions also say that it is safe for this person to go home.
When asked about the error, the family member WBZ spoke with said he has no idea who the juvenile is or why his name and instructions showed up on DaRosa's discharge form.
Morton Hospital says the discharge papers for all of its Mass Health patients are handled by its state-selected subcontractor Norton Emergency services, the company they're in the process of terminating.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030 has reached out to Norton Emergency Services for comment.
