N.H. Girl Battling Leukemia Gets Her Wish To Meet Justin Bieber

ROCHESTER, N.H. (CBS) -- A 9-year-old New Hampshire girl battling leukemia had her wish to meet Justin Bieber granted Wednesday night.

Karlee Drew, who lives in Rochester, New Hampshire, has undergone two bone marrow transplants and several rounds of chemotherapy to treat acute myeloid leukemia, according to her family.

Karlee's mother, Pam, said Tuesday on Facebook that Karlee had requested through the Make A Wish Foundation to meet Bieber.

Ok so talked to make a wish and was told Karlee's wish can't be done, she wanted to swim with dolphins in Clearwater...

After the Karlee's story spread on Facebook, supporter Melena Lugo said in a post that family and friends' "countless phone calls, emails, and Twitter stalking paid off," and Karlee was on her way to meet Bieber.

Make-A-Wish tells WBZ that as soon as they learned of Karlee's wish, they worked quickly in conjunction with Justin Bieber's team to make it come true.

"Justin is a long-standing, committed and generous wish granter," a spokesperson for Make-A-Wish said. "His support for the Make-A-Wish mission remains strong as he continues to grant wishes. Justin's dedication is evidenced by the fact that he has granted a wish in almost every city during his current tour."

Karlee was taken by limousine to meet Bieber at the TD Garden, escorted by Rochester and New Hampshire State Police.

A Go Fund Me page originally setup to defray Karlee's medical costs, now asks for help covering funeral costs.
