Watch Hanley Ramirez's Massive 468-Foot Home Run Against A's

By Matt Dolloff, CBS Boston

BOSTON (CBS) -- After a somewhat quiet start at the plate, Hanley Ramirez's bat is really coming alive for the Red Sox. After hitting one home run in April, Ramirez has blasted three in just the first ten days of May. He launched a missile off Oakland A's starter Sean Manaea to center field at Fenway Park Tuesday night, reaching an estimated distance of 468 feet - a sure sign that Ramirez's power is starting to realize its full potential.

A video from MLB StatCast shows the home run, plus some mind-boggling stats attached to it. Besides the incredible distance - it's the second-longest home run in the majors so far this season, behind only a 475-foot bomb from the Miami Marlins' Giancarlo Stanton - it had an "exit velocity" of 113.6 mph when the ball left Ramirez's bat.

Despite the moon-shot, Ramirez wasn't surprised that he was able to hit it that far. He also sees Stanton's distance record as a new challenge.

"Oh yeah? He got lucky," he joked to reporters. "I'm going to beat that."

Ramirez is batting .301 on the season with four home runs and 19 RBI. Watch his majestic home run in the video below.
