Zo & Bertrand: Pablo Sandoval's Recent Comments Are Perplexing

BOSTON (CBS) -- Red Sox third baseman Pablo Sandoval spoke to the media yesterday at Fenway Park, making a point to clarify that he wasn't faking a shoulder injury.

"People say that I was faking. People and media was saying I was faking," Sandoval told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Jonny Miller. "I don't fake at all because I can prove that I can play through pain."

He added: "People need to wait to say things."

After dissecting Sandoval's comments, Zolak and Bertrand are left with the same questions they had before.

"Is he gonna tell us how this happened?" asked Beetle. "How did this injury occur? When did it occur? Did something re-aggravate it this year? Has anyone asked him those questions? Because I haven't heard him be direct."

As for Sandoval's notion that the media has accused him of faking an injury, Zo & Beetle don't buy that either. If anyone has been accused of dishonesty, it has been the Red Sox organization, not Sandoval.

"That was not the case," said Zolak. "It was more the [idea that the] Red Sox were making up an injury to send him away. 'Hey you're not well, you're not in shape, you're hurt, go get in shape.'"
