Amendola Discusses Restructured Contract, Future Cop Videos On Zo & Bertrand

BOSTON (CBS) -- Patriots receiver Danny Amendola recently restructured his contract, saving the Patriots nearly $4 million in cap space for the upcoming season.

Amendola joined 98.5 The Sports Hub's Zolak & Bertrand on Tuesday to discuss reworking his deal, and it didn't sound like he wanted to be anywhere but New England.

"Coach [Bill] Belichick and I had a few big conversations about what we both thought about the future and went from there," he said. "The most important thing was I love this city, I love playing for the Pats and I love the atmosphere that coach Belichick creates every day. That's ultimately why I want to play here."

Amendola wasn't worried when the Patriots added more receivers to the depth chart during the offseason, and pointed to his strong relationship with the group as another reason he wanted to remain with in New England.

He even hinted that there will be more Cops parody videos from himself and Julian Edelman, though he would't give too many details on future installments.

"It's been a long running joke between Julian and I; we spend so much time together and have been friends for such a long time, we've kind of joked around the locker room and on road trips, acting like police officers or half-assed cops like that," he said. "We have a couple of other guys who are highly involved. We have a captain and a couple of criminals. I can't disclose names at this time, but they might be in future videos."

Amendola also filled Zolak & Bertrand in on his partnership with his friends at Autodesk, as well as his upcoming Celebrity Waiter Night on Saturday June 13th. Listen to the full interview here:
