Report: Danny Amendola Restructures Contract To Remain With Patriots

BOSTON (CBS) -- Danny Amendola loves being a New England Patriot.

For the second straight year, Amendola has restructured his contract in order to remain on the Patriots' roster.

Fox Sports' Mike Garafolo reported the news, noting that Amendola can still make plenty of money if he hits certain incentives.

Garafolo also shared a statement from Amendola: "It's an honor to play for this franchise and with this group of guys. We have one goal -- to win another championship and that's all we care about."

Amendola, 30, has spent the last three years with the Patriots. Last year, he caught 65 passes, which was his highest single-season total since 2010. He had 648 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He also led the league with a 12-yard average on the 23 punts he returned, and he averaged 21.5 yards per kickoff return.

In his postseason career, all with New England, he's caught 21 passes in seven games for 271 yards and three touchdowns, including a fourth-quarter touchdown in Super Bowl XLIX to bring the Patriots within three points of the Seahawks.

Amendola originally signed a five-year, $31 million deal in 2013. He restructured prior to last season, and he's now done it again to stay in a situation he clearly likes.
