Keller @ Large: Donald Trump's Imaginary Cabinet

BOSTON (CBS) - Who a presidential candidate would appoint to key positions is a good indicator of how they think and what kind of president they might be.

So I'm glad that Donald Trump is openly musing about possible cabinet picks, even though there's the little matter of a grueling election to take care of before we get there.

I'd like to see Hillary Clinton do the same.

Anyway, Trump told an interviewer he's eyeing Chris Christie for attorney general, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani to head homeland security, and so on.

Reasonable choices, but kind of dull. One thing about Trump, he has added a sheen of celebrity to an otherwise mundane campaign.

So in that spirit, and before this race drains away any trace of amusement, let's have some fun by filling Trump's imaginary cabinet with some real Hollywood-style glamor.

For secretary of defense, Clint Eastwood is an obvious choice. "Go ahead, Vladimir – make my day."

Sarah Palin clearly has the vision to be secretary of state; why, she can see Russia from her house!

Comedian Don Rickles would make a fine UN ambassador.

And the secretary of commerce should be a businessman – I've been seeing a lot of Mike Lindell, inventor of My Pillow, on TV, and I think he'd be perfect.

But what about the vice-presidency?

It needs to be someone who can take orders, never embarrass the president, exude competence, and be welcome at funerals.

And I wonder – would Lassie be available?
