Beleskey, Krejci, Krug Undergo Successful Offseason Surgeries

BOSTON (CBS) -- A trio of Boston Bruins have undergone successful offseason surgeries, the team announced on Tuesday.

Matt Beleskey was the first Bruin to go under the knife this offseason, undergoing surgery on his left hand on April 14. Beleskey is expected to make a full recovery in six weeks, and will look to build off a good first season in Boston where he recorded career-highs in games played (80), assists (22) and points (37). He led the Bruins with 260 hits during the 2015-16 season.

Defenseman Torey Krug had surgery on his right shoulder on April 21 with an expected recovery time of six months, making it likely he'll miss the start of the 2016-17 NHL season. In his third season with the Bruins, Krug set career-highs with 81 games played, 40 assists and 44 points.

Krug is set to become a restricted free agent this offseason.

Also on the mend following surgery is first-line center David Krejci, who underwent successful hip surgery in New York on April 25. His recovery time is expected to be five months. Krejci just finished his 10th season with Boston, leading the team with 46 assists while finishing tied for second on the team with 63 points in 72 games played.
