Stray Bullet Goes Through Windshield Of SUV In Brockton

BROCKTON (CBS) – A stray bullet went through the windshield of an SUV in Brockton just minutes after a woman and her five children got out of the vehicle.

Susie Ciulla-Hall had just gone inside her Washburn Street house Friday after bringing her children home from school when she heard a gunshot and saw a man running.

The bullet went through the SUV's windshield and was lodged in the driver's seat.

Ciulla-Hall said she is fortunate that her children were not outside when the gunshot rang out.

"They would be outside playing and they weren't. Thank god. For whatever reason they weren't," Ciulla-Hall told WBZ-TV.

Little information is known about the shooting, though one man was rushed to an area hospital.

Ciulla-Hall said it was a scary situation for her and for her children.

"They know stuff goes on in the city. It never happens here. But it happened tonight," she said. "At least we're safe right?"
