Dunkin' Donuts Delivery Service Coming To Boston
BOSTON (CBS) -- Soon you'll be able to satisfy your Dunkin' craving without ever leaving the house.
Dunkin' Donuts has announced that starting next week, it'll be testing a delivery service in the Boston area.
Customers will be able to order anything from a dozen donuts to a single cup of coffee, with no minimum order requirements.
Dunkin' workers won't be doing the delivering, that job has been outsourced to on-demand delivery service apps DoorDash and Favor. DoorDash is available to deliver from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., while Favor will make your Dunkin' run from 8 a.m. to midnight Sunday to Wednesday, and until 2 a.m. Thursday to Saturday.
The coffee and donut chain has been testing delivery in other U.S. cities for months.
"The ability to have Dunkin' items delivered directly to you is something that our guests have been requesting for some time and we will continue to evaluate a possible national rollout in the future," a Dunkin' Donuts spokesman said in a statement.
Those who want to take advantage of the delivery option should expect to pay more. The Boston Globe calculated that delivery orders will cost about $6 extra, plus tip.
The apps deliver in a radius around Boston that extends north to Wakefield and Winchester, west to Wellesley and parts of Natick, and south to Braintree, according to The Globe.
