Ferry Street Food and Drink
Malden

Kicking off the Great 8 is Ferry Street Food and Drink in Malden. This neighborhood spot offers outstanding craft cocktails and 16 carefully selected draft beers to pair up with the Southern inspired menu. Nothing is better at the bar than the snack section of the menu, especially the Deviled Eggs spiked with chunks of crispy bacon, or House Made Chips topped with blue cheese gravy.

Les Zygomates
Boston

Les Zygomates has been a Boston staple for over two decades. Located in the Leather District, this French restaurant offers live jazz to pair with their superior selection of wines. Nothing goes better with a big bold red, than Les Zyg's Steak Frites.

Papagayo
Multiple Locations

Another Great 8 winner is Papagayo. With locations in Boston, Saugus and Assembly Square in Somerville, Papagayo is a festive restaurant serving amped up versions of Mexican favorites. There's guacamole with chunks of lobster; big burgers with a south of the border spin; and super cheesy Queso Fundido. You can wash all of this tasty fare down with one of Papagayo's Rona Ritas, or some Tequila snow cones - a dessert that doubles as a drink.

Copper House Tavern
Waltham

The Copper House Tavern in Waltham is a big, attractive space with a fun, active bar at the center of it all. Here they serve well-crafted bar food favorites like Hot Honey Wings, and pizzas packed with all of the good stuff. But the perfect snack to pair with one of their 40 craft beers has to be their piping hot Steak and Cheese Egg Rolls, loaded up with sirloin, provolone, peppers and onions inside a crispy, golden shell.

Brewer's Coalition
Newtonville

Brewer's Coalition in Newtonville is a casual spot with high ceilings, big windows and a huge wooden bar. With an ever changing lineup of beers, and a collection of bottles bordering the entire space, you can tell they're serious about beer. Brews even make it into many of the dishes, like the Fish and Chips covered in a Sam Adams based batter, and the Black and Tan Onion Rings coated in Guinness Stout.

Hops N Scotch
Brookline, Cambridge

Hops N Scotch in Brookline and Cambridge is a cool gastropub specializing in all of the classic comfort food you enjoy with a drink, like scotch eggs, juicy burgers, and steaming plates of mac and cheese. At the bar, they're so serious about their scotch, they'll even serve it over a custom made ice ball that melts slower.

Julio's Liquors
Westboro

Julio's Liquors on Route 9 in Westboro isn't just massive, it's massively innovative with a truly intoxicating selection. Inside you'll find aisle after aisle of hard to find beers, booze and fine wine. And Julio's isn't just about beverages. There is a whole specialty food section offering everything from hundreds of hot sauces, cheeses, and specialty snacks.

The Grill Next Door
Haverhill

The Grill Next Door in Haverhill is a cozy neighborhood restaurant that boasts made-from-scratch comfort food and lots and lots of beer, with over 36 crafts available on draft. Their selection of fries is just as extensive, offering sticks smothered with gravy, loaded up with bacon, jack cheese and sour cream, or topped with grilled chicken and barbecue sauce.
