Hanson Woman Indicted In Crash That Killed Nurse Training To Run Boston Marathon
BROCKTON (CBS) -- A Hanson woman has been indicted on charges stemming from a December 2015 car crash that killed a jogger.
Kathleen Vitello, 52, of Hanson, has been charged with Motor Vehicle Manslaughter and Motor Vehicle Homicide by Operation Under the Influence.
According to investigators Vitello was driving south on Winter Street in Hanover on Dec. 23 when her veered off the road and hit 32-year-old Amanda Russell, who was jogging.
Russell, a nurse at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, had been training for the 2016 Boston Marathon. Russell died days later.
Investigators say Vitello was under the influence of Methadone and Xanax.
Vitello is currently being held on $50,000 cash bail from her initial court appearance. She will summonsed to Brockton Superior Court.
