2016 NFL Draft: Cornerback Targets For Patriots

BOSTON (CBS) -- Adam Jones and Rich Keefe focused on potential targets for the Patriots at cornerback, after first looking at running back and both the offensive and defensive lines.

After going through the elite players and low-first round picks that the Patriots couldn't select without trading way up, Jones got to the corners who are projected to go somewhere from the end of the second round to the end of the third round, where the Patriots currently hold picks No. 60-61, 91, and 96.

Here are some of the possible names the Patriots could select at cornerback:

Cyrus Jones, Alabama: "The one you see mocked to the Patriots in just about every mock draft," Cyrus Jones is a former wide receiver converted to corner, who Adam Jones said is "electric in the kicking game" and is the kind of four-down player that Bill Belichick loves.

Kendall Fuller, Virginia Tech: Talented corner who "comes from a family of defensive backs at Virginia Tech," but has an injury history. "Maybe you could get him at a discounted price, however, that's a dangerous game for the Patriots to play," added Jones, citing injury-prone draft bust Ras-I Dowling.

Xavien Howard, Baylor: "Maybe [Howard]'s a bit scheme-specific," Jones says on the cornerback, who mostly played zone defense, but has "all the measurables when it comes to a size-speed combination." Has potential as a physical press corner.

Will Redmond, Mississippi State: Six-foot corner who could play "stout, physical defense, if you're looking for that."
