Man Charged With Threatening To 'Shoot Up' Lowell School Held Without Bail
LOWELL (CBS) – A man charged with making threats to "shoot up" a Lowell school has been held without bail.
On Thursday, school employees from Pawtucket Memorial School alerted police to a threat that had been made online.
Through the post, Lowell Police identified and arrested 36-year-old Robert McDaniel. He was charged with communicating a threat involving a firearm causing disruption of school.
Though school was not in session due to April vacation, about three dozen children were attending a program.
After a soft lockdown, the children were evacuated to another school.
Police said there is no indication that McDaniel had access to weapons.
McDaniel appeared in Lowell District court on Friday morning and was held without bail.
He is due back in court on May 11 for a detention hearing.
