Yarmouth Police Seek Cards For Young Girl Undergoing Lengthy Surgery

YARMOUTH (CBS) – Police in Yarmouth are asking for cards to cheer up their junior officer, a young girl who is undergoing her 10th spinal surgery.

On Friday, Leah Archambault will be in Boston Children's Hospital undergoing her 10th spinal surgery in the last three years.

Police said it is the most involved surgery she's undergone to date, and it is expected to last at least 10 hours.  Leah needs the surgery to stay alive, police said.

In a Facebook post, the Yarmouth Police Department describes Leah as "one of our most special young citizens and a future Yarmouth police officer."

"Leah rarely gets any cards in the hospital and we were hoping that you could help out by sending her a card," police wrote. "She loves animals, horses, cars, Legos, and anything with a joke to it!"
