Christy Turlington, Jason McElwain Finish 2016 Boston Marathon

BOSTON (CBS) -- Among those finishing the 120th Boston Marathon Monday were a supermodel and a viral basketball star.

Model Christy Turlington Burns, who started running marathons to support her foundation, "Every Mother Counts," and raise awareness for maternal health around the world.

She completed the marathon with a finishing time of 04:09:27.

"I had never observed the humanity that exists on marathon day," she told WBZ-TV's Kate Merrill in an interview about her marathon preparations. "We're all in this together and we're all doing this for something greater than ourselves."

McElwain, known to many as "J-Mac," went viral back in 2006, when the highly-functioning autistic basketball player scored 20 points in the last four minutes of a high school basketball game.

This was his third Boston Marathon. He finished with a time of 03:14:04.

He told WBZ-TV's Paul Burton earlier this month that he has even bigger plans after running.

"My goal is to be a college coach and become a skills trainer around the country for basketball," JMac said.
