Bruins Prospect Jeremy Lauzon 'Out Of Danger' Following Scary Neck Laceration [VIDEO]

By Matt Dolloff, CBS Boston

BOSTON (CBS) -- One of my irrational fears growing up playing hockey was getting cut by a skate. Sometimes, it's just hard to fight the knowledge that you're surrounded by guys armed with sticks and steel blades attached to their feet.

Boston Bruins prospect Jeremy Lauzon may have a hard time fighting that fear after suffering a scary neck laceration during a game for the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). Below is a video of the incident - it's hard to see what's going on, and fortunately it's not particularly bloody or graphic, but disturbing nonetheless. Click here if it doesn't work for you.

Lauzon was rushed to the hospital for immediate surgery after the injury, but according to TSN's Bob McKenzie is "out of danger."

Lauzon's injury is reminiscent of former Buffalo Sabres goalie Clint Malarchuk, who suffered a much more gruesome neck laceration during a game - and survived! Below is the infamous video of Malarchuk's injury, but fair warning - there is a LOT of blood and the sicko behind the camera doesn't cut away. But, perhaps you came here to see a gruesome injury, so here you go...you sadist.

WARNING! NSFW! BLOOD! Don't say I didn't warn you...

The Bruins selected Lauzon in the second round of the 2015 NHL Draft at 52nd overall, one of the picks sent to Boston in the Dougie Hamilton trade. We will keep you posted with updates on his status.
