Red Sox Fans Disappointed After Opening Day Loss

BOSTON (CBS) - It was a disappointing Opening Day for Red Sox Nation. Sox fans leaving Fenway after a painful loss to the Orioles didn't hold back.

"The closer? terrible, awful," said one. "David Price? 30 million dollars a year not worth it not at all."

"I think they need pitching," added another.

"The starting pitching's got to be better," one more fan said. "Price didn't go very far and that always hurts in the end right?"

Despite the loss, Opening Day at Fenway is always a good time. Before the game the atmosphere on Yawkey Way was electric.

One woman attending her very first Red Sox game was busy getting her face painted with the Sox logo. "I'm 62 years old and I'm psyched." she said.

The fans ended up being let down, but they told WBZ they had a good time and they're taking the long view.

"It's only the first game here, so we got a lot more to go. Eighty to go. Let's do it!"
