Drunken Recaps: Should The Bruins Have 'Franchise-Tagged' Tyler Seguin?
BOSTON (CBS) -- What should the Boston Bruins have done with Tyler Seguin? Many agree that trading him to Dallas was not the best idea, especially considering the return the Bruins got on the deal. They were not patient with Seguin, who has blossomed into a superstar out west, and may have been better off keeping him around and extending his contract.
But, if you ask this guy who spoke to Adolfo Gonzalez at the Toucher & Rich Drunken Recap from Bruins-Hurricanes Tuesday night, the B's should have just taken a page out of the Patriots' playbook: they should have "franchise-tagged" the former No. 2-overall pick. Interesting idea from a man who prior to that lays out his entire game plan for the Bruins, seemingly applying for the head coaching job right on the spot. His plan includes the ol' two-man advantage play, which makes you wonder why teams don't try that more often.
From Wednesday night, an inebriated Celtics fan outside TD Garden calls the Green a "bunch of bums," then says they're "OK in my book" in the same breath. Why are they bums? They haven't won a championship in eight years. ... The guy also claims he can "skate anyone out" if you strap a pair of ice skates on him, and even calls out Tim Thomas, which leaves Adolfo flummoxed.
