2 Firefighters Hurt Battling Framingham House Fire
FRAMINGHAM (CBS) -- Two firefighters were hurt and nearly a dozen people displaced after a fire broke out at a multifamily home in Framingham early Saturday morning.
The blaze started around 5 a.m. at the Weybossett Avenue house. When firefighters arrived, they saw heavy fire and smoke billowing from the house.
Witness Ed Jones told WBZ-TV, "It just started to coming out (of) the doors and the windows and it was engulfed (in flames)."
"(The firefighters) thought they had it under control and it looked like they did," he said. "They cut a hole in the roof and that's when it really started. It was bad."
Both firefighters were taken to a local hospital after suffering non-life threatening injuries.
None of the residents were hurt, and 10 of them were displaced after the home was deemed a complete loss, officials say.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No additional information was immediately available.
