WBZ Weather Madness; Battle of Two Top 5 Snowstorms

Hope everyone's weekend was fantastic and despite the gloomy, wet weather out there, your week is off to a good start.  Considering my March Madness bracket is officially busted after Virginia's loss last night…I'm now solely focused on our WBZ Weather Madness :)

Last week's results were no surprise…Jan/Feb of 2015 beat out the October 2011 Halloween storm by a wide margin. Now it's on to our last set of winter storms.

Who can forget the Presidents Day blizzard of 2003? This storm has the dubious distinctly of being Boston's greatest snowstorm ever recorded, beating out even the infamous Blizzard of '78. A remarkable 27.5" of snow blanketed the city and shutdown nearly the entire megalopolis from DC to Boston in it's path.

In more recent memory, the blizzard of 2013 brought not only a #5 snow total for Boston (24.9") but the cities 4th highest storm surge at the coast. Hurricane force wind gusts were felt from Nova Scotia to the mid coast of Maine and Cuttyhunk, MA.

Soooo here we go! Which had a bigger impact on you? Which storm do you think should go on to the "Elite 8".

Quick forecast update for you here too…

Rain will taper through the evening hours with partial clearing overnight tonight. The wind will be the big story on the backside of this storm center strengthening to our east.  Wind gusts 40-50 mph from overnight tonight through the early evening tomorrow are strong enough that pockets of isolated damage and outages will result.

See you tomorrow for WBZ This Morning –
