No Bail For Reading Man Captured After Easter Sunday Manhunt

READING (CBS) - The target of manhunt in Reading on Easter Sunday was ordered held without bail Monday as more details about the incident were revealed in court.

Police had asked for the public's help in their search for 30-year-old Brian English.

He was wanted on several charges including kidnapping, assault with a dangerous weapon, larceny, and witness intimidation after a domestic incident Sunday morning.

Prosecutors say English held a woman against her will in his house, beat her, cut her hair and threatened her with a knife.

He fled and police began a massive search for him.

Several hours later, the Ford Explorer police were looking for crashed into a utility pole on Criterion Road just after 11 p.m. English, who has a long arrest record, was taken into custody.

He was treated at a hospital overnight and was taken to Woburn District Court Monday in a hospital gown.  His face was bruised and bloodied.

He was ordered held without bail.

No other information is available at this point in the investigation.
