Former Lakeville Firefighter Pleads Not Guilty To Raping Subordinate

WAREHAM (AP) — A former Lakeville fire lieutenant accused of raping one of his subordinates has been ordered held on $25,000 bail.

Fifty-one-year-old Thomas Dunlevy pleaded not guilty Monday to charges of rape, assault and battery, supplying alcohol to a minor and witness intimidation.

A 22-year-old firefighter told police that Dunlevy gave him alcohol and sexually assaulted him on multiple occasions starting in 2014.

Lakeville Fire Chief Daniel Hopkins told WPRI-TV he learned about the allegations in February.

Hopkins says he and the town council launched an internal investigation and gave Dunlevy the option to resign or be terminated. Dunlevy chose to resign.

Police then launched a criminal investigation.

Online records don't list a home phone number for Dunlevy.

It's unclear whether he has an attorney who could comment on the charges.
