Neely: 'I Still Believe We're Going To Make The Playoffs'

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Boston Bruins have lost four straight games in regulation, and confidence in Boston has begun to wane. But not in the front office.

Bruins president Cam Neely joined Felger & Mazz on Thursday at the TD Garden and said that despite the losing streak, he's still planning on hosting some playoff hockey next month.

"I still believe we're going to make the playoffs," Neely said. "I believe we're a playoff team, but we need to play better."

Obviously, considering the Bruins spiraled out of the playoff field last year around this time, comparisons have been drawn. Yet Neely sees a different team this time around.

"I feel like we've shown more passion throughout the year this year than we did last year. That was a big issue for me last year; I didn't see the passion on a consistent basis. This year I feel like there's a little bit more passion than we had last year throughout the season. Not necessarily saying that's equating to more wins and more points, but I think the passion and the give-a-crap level is a little higher."

Listen to the full discussion, which includes Neely saying there was some opposition in the room when the team decided to trade Tyler Seguin, below:
