Gerber Recalls Baby Food Pouches That May Have Spoiled

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (CBS) – Gerber is recalling certain pouches of baby food that could be spoiled due to defective packaging.

Pouches of pears, carrots and peas; and pouches of carrots, apples and mangoes with best-by dates between July 12-July 14, 2016, are part of the recall.

"You may notice that, in some cases, those pouches are bloated or product inside may have an off taste or odor," Gerber said. "We are proactively working to retrieve all remaining pouches of the affected batches that fail to meet our quality standards."

The pouches are being removed from stores. Anyone who bought them should check the best by date and batch code on the bottom of the pouch, and call 1-800-706-0556 for replacement coupons.
