Body Of Fallen Sheriff's Deputy Arrives In Falmouth

FALMOUTH (CBS) -- Flags flew over the procession route as the body of Florida Deputy Sheriff John Kotfila, Jr. arrived at his hometown Sunday evening.

Kotfila, 30, of the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Department, was killed after his cruiser was struck by a wrong-way driver in Florida.

Hundreds of law enforcement officials and citizens attended the procession from Logan Airport.

Kotfila comes from a family of policemen. His father John Kotfila Sr. is a sergeant in the Massachusetts State Police and previously worked as an officer for Falmouth Police.

His brother Michael Kotfila serves as a police officer in Falmouth.

He will be laid to rest on Wednesday.
