Report: Patriots Player May Have Witnessed Tray Walker Crash In Miami

MIAMI (CBS/AP) — Baltimore Ravens cornerback Tray Walker is in critical condition after police say he was involved in a dirt bike crash in Miami.

There is an unconfirmed report a player from the New England Patriots may have seen it.

Miami-Dade Police say Walker was riding a Honda dirt bike with no lights and wearing dark clothing when he collided with a Ford Escape at about 8 p.m. Thursday.

The Ravens say Walker is at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Investigators are looking to the possibility that another NFL player from another team was on the scene, according to CBS Miami.

According to the ABC station in Miami, "investigators are looking for a member of the New England Patriots who may have witnessed the crash."

Walker's sister Shalonda Martin said her brother was "riding with his friends," but when asked if one of them was an NFL player, she told CBS Miami, "That, I have no idea."

Robin Pinkard, a detective with the Miami-Dade Police Department, told WBZ-TV Friday they had no additional information on the crash.

"The information on a New England Patriots player being involved has not been confirmed," Pinkard said in an email.

"In regards to the inquiries regarding a "possible" second person involved, the preliminary investigation reveals that this individual may be a witness rather than being involved in the crash. Investigators have no information pertaining to his identity."

There has been no comment yet from the Patriots or the NFL on the ABC Miami report.

Walker was selected in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL draft. He played in eight games last season, mostly on special teams.

In a statement, Ravens coach John Harbaugh said, "This is devastating news. Our prayers and hopes are with Tray and his family tonight."

A native of Miami, Walker attended Miami Northwestern High School before playing in college at Texas Southern.
