Yarmouth Police Offer Free Rides Home On St. Patrick's Day

YARMOUTH (CBS) -- Yarmouth Police has a plan to prevent drunk driving this St. Patrick's Day.

It's called Operation Safe Ride Home. Starting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Town Taxi will pick up anyone who needs a ride home from a bar or restaurant for free.

Now in it's fifth year, Operation Safe Ride Home is collectively funded by area businesses like the Yarmouth Restaurant Association, Cape Cod Irish Village, and Hallett Funeral Home.

The police department will also increase patrols to curb dangerous driving.
